Bacon at BK?

Lets argue about something else than stupid people, guns and games ;)

...so do you support halaal foods or do you think it is rather stupid to pre-decide for someone what they can or can't eat at your joing. Personally I'm against this kind of dictation and prefer to make up my own mind on what I want to see, hear and eat. Otherwise we are just being nannied. the end.

I'm no 100% meat lover or bacon fanatic, but its more than that... or is it?

If they make the choice to go halaal, they should still give customers the choice of bacon or macon

Muslims won't eat at a place that serves bacon.

It is the owner's decision at the end of the day, and if he wants a halaal restaurant then so be it. If you don't want it to be halaal, then bring in Burger King yourself.

...what if they promise to keep the bacon and macon far appart?

I think if a store doesn't want to sell bacon, they don't have to. It's their business after all and if you don't like it then take your business elsewhere simple.

I think it's fine if everything is separate but they don't have any way of knowing that and also if the owner of the restaurant is Muslim he's not gonna want 'dirty' pigs in his restaurant.

Compared to who BK is and who they trying to be are two different things. That's part of my question, why not serve exactly like they do in the USA and UK? Why can't they have both halaal and non halaal stores if they really must be that way about things.

This is not only them but also KFC AFAIK. We don't have the black edition in RSA because they also are not serving bacon options.

I thought about that one, but its going to be hard to manage to halaal and non halaal stores would be easier? However I would bet that the non halaal stores are going to do worst because of their assumption that halaal is such a big market in RSA. It does seem so because in a way they are saying that muslims really dig junk food which I find bit hard to believe... well most of it.

The issue here is that Muslims can't eat at a store that has bacon in it, however Christians can eat at a place that doesn't serve bacon. Thus its easier to go full hallal and lose some bacon lovers than to open a mixture of stores and manage to different menus with 2 different supply chains when trying to increase your target market.
Plus bunny lovers should be happy since the cow is killed more humanely so you also get the vegan market also, I'm not certain but I'm sure their butchers have happier cows I just can't remember details.

Yeah I think they should make "Christian" food places more, I really prefer the taste of bacon and it is starting to become quite scarce with the fast food places.
Mind you because BK is in Town so I will likely not visit there unless I am in town for some reason or until they open a branch closer to where I reside.

Every restaurant is "christian" diet friendly when you think about it just not every place is bacon friendly. At least the pigs are happy

Dang. Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world that isn't crazy about bacon :) I don't dislike it, but I sure as heck don't want it on my pizza/pasta/cereal.

For those of you who have had BK, what's it like compared to Mickey Dee's? I saw a vid on youtube from people in CPT who did a blindfold taste test and none of them could taste the difference between Mickey Dee's and BK. That's sad.

For Lent 5 years ago I gave up on meat and when it was all over I never went back to bacon and pork in general so I'm with you there.

Tried BK once, nothing really Special but their burgers are slightly thicker than McD

It's not just the fact that there's no bacon, but halaal restaurants have to make use of halaal suppliers for their meat and this is often B-grade.
