Battlefield 3 Open Beta explained

I am proper excited for BF3, moreso than any other title for the past 3 or 4 years...

That being said, I don't know if I am going to play in the BETA or not. Maybe save myself a surprise for October when the game is released.

I remember that even though I played quite a bit of BC2 BETA, in a way, it spoilt the game for me a little, for 2 reasons.
1. It made me realise that my existing rig stood no chance of playing BC2 at decent framerates.
2. That one map was played SO much, that when the full game was released, I hated seeing it.

Then again, I am building a new PC this weekend that will CRAVE some new Battlefield achtung. Hmmm choices.

it's ok, I can wait for the real deal!
playing BC2 beta, killed that game for me, it just didn't feel like BF2!

I'd like to try and avoid the beta and wait for the shiny box copy to arrive so can appreciate the waves of excitement as install and do set up for first time in all it's wondrous glory. Been a long wait for this game to release, what's a extra month?

Oh, that and will need to get Dead Island out system anyway in Sept :D
