A new job listing at Blizzard Entertainment is hinting at the possibility of remastering some of its most popular classic games.

According to a post on Blizzard’s website, the developer is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Classic Games to help restore StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II and allegedly update them for modern PCs.

“Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation,” Blizzard said.

“We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.”

The job listing seeks applicants who can “make gameplay first again on modern operating systems” and improve multiplayer through “combat hacking”.

This is the first we’ve heard of any potential remastered re-releases of classic Blizzard games.

Im busy playing through Starcraft again before the new one releases, and even though my computer has to run it at 640X480 in 256 colours, the game play is still so great im happy to spend time on it...

YES!! do this now! fricking now i say! I have waited so long for this, warcraft 3 is still my most favorite multiplayer game and to have it "updated" would just be awesome.

The thing i like about remakes is the old games don't ever go away so even if they were to screw this up somehow, I still have the originals to play, and yes I still play them.
