Buying a new car

So i have decided that its time for me to buy a replacement car, I have been looking at the polo vivo which is kinda bland and its just an old polo with a new face and i've got my eyes on a late 2000 model subaru Impreza WRX (pre google eye model), the Subaru is for Sale @ R82999 but as we know banks to not offer finance for cars older than 5 years. is there perhaps another way to get finance from the bank without paying skullcrushing interest back.

I'd steer clear of Scoobies dude. Their services are gonna cripple you. Buddy of mine had one...trust me, I know!

thats what everyone's telling me :(

If you really want one maybe wait till you can get something that's still under warranty/service plan. also with it being a Scooby and all...how do you think previous owner drove it...ms.Daisy? I think not:rolleyes:

I would say go for the Polo. VW's are all over the place in this country so parts are very easy to find and the services aren't that bad at all. Additionally, they have the highest re-sell value so you'll get a lot of money back when you decide to buy something else. They're also very safe and very reliable. I'd be VERY vary of Japanese and French cars... From experience. You don't wanna go there...

I had a choice to buy a BMW 318i ... the only reason i opted for my Corsa 1.8 GSi was due to the BMW servicing costing an arm and a leg. and you HAVE to get the services. i.e. if hoses gone, its R8k for a new set. R2.8k per wheel, etc. :/

My GSI's services are R750 minor & R1600 major.

Also, there's a reason just about EVERY BMW owner sells their car just before or after the service plan runs out.

dohc. My neighbour bought a 1999/2000 WRX imprezza. WHite one. Awesome cab, but as everybody mentioned, I have sortof firsthand experience as I talk alot to the oke (also owns a celica GT) and he says EXACTLY the same thing. maintenance on that thing is a beeeeeeeeeoch.

there's a mazda 6 mps that i am currently looking at atm (also has 4wd and turbocharged like the schoobies) (looks pretty schweet) , didnt get a chance to test drive it yet though. hopefully i'll get time on friday to thoroughly check it out.
