CGI trailers

Now with E3 and all the related news and announcements, I have come to realize how must I dislike game trailers that don't show any gameplay. It's like watching a movie trailer for Jurassic park that spends 2 minutes showing you people buying popcorn, or some really comfortable seats that you can watch it on, and just generally building up the experience without showing you any of the movie. I've reached the point over the last few years that I won't even watch a pre-rendered trailer any more.
Now I was wondering if I was alone in this- Do you guys hate these, love them, are indifferent?

As much as I like to see CGI trailers, seeing actual (in development, in-game) gameplay is just that much better. I at least want a taste of what's to come. Even should we have yet another Watch_Dogs incident, let us at least see more or less what we're in for. Artwork and CGI can only present so much.

Agree totally with you both ave & 8sh - feels almost like the dev is trying to pull a fast one on an unsuspecting audience. At least I felt a little cheated when I saw the E: D video which was the Launch Trailer with "not actual game footage" in it??

Witness the tiny little note at the bottom of this Elite: Dangerous launch trailer:

And compare that to this WIP update video from Star Citizen:

Here the two videos concerned for your viewing pleasure:

I don't like scripted gameplay either. Just feels so fake.
I keep thinking to myself... "No one actually talks like that while playing. Where is the profanity, the jokes and sarcasm?" :D
