China 13-year video game console ban

This would be really good for the console makers. Millions of extra unit sales.

Also, can you imagine being banned from owning a gaming console?

I had no idea China had this law in place. Imagine if Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, etc can begin selling gaming consoles into the largest emerging consumer market the world has ever seen. Can only be a great thing for the industry.

Ja, same here. Console makers already have crazy sales figures. I am sure that console sales (if opened up) will sky rocket.

Some Sony shares in my portfolio would've been nice! :D

Doesn't China have a Communist government?

Post-Mao, they seem to try and take the "best" principles of communism, socialism, autocracy, nationalism, and capitalism - and use that as a basis for whatever the hell kind of system you want to call that :P

Also didn't know that consoles were banned there. Thats just crazy. Personally I use my pc for gaming but here's hoping that they get the opportunity to actually choose what they want to play on. Will also open up a massive range of games that they couldn't play before.

Think all the console and games studios could see a good rise in profits if they lift they ban.
