Cities Skylines

Does it have some form of multiplayer? I actually grew quite fond of the Simcity multiplayer in the end although they could have done a lot more.

Sounds like me in Banished...

I don't think out-of-the-box, but there might be a suitable mod. I know there is already this mod:

http://www.pcgamer.com/cities-skylines-mod-adds-first-person-multiplayer/

With this new released version of the mod, players can join another player’s game from a workshop save and run around in the city. The mod doesn’t actually let you play the game together but it does show what is possible with the mod API and let you mess around with your friends.

I haven't played since release, so haven't tried either of the expansions yet, would like to get back into it. I started making a map of Durban using the height maps, should try finish that off!

Does it transition between day, night, sun, storm, snow, rain etc?
(or is it permanently white everywhere?)

I'm really loving this game. Tried out adding a few Mods and building assets.

So far I'm sticking to one city and making note of what I should have done so that the next city I build will be better organised. I added a dam to the river and it's generating a good deal of power but has caused the river to rise more than expected so some of my zones and bridges occasionally get submerged!

I really wish I had more time to spend on this game. 2 hours in an evening just doesn't feel like enough time at all! My cities' main street is so buggered right now, the traffic is ridiculous. I will have to doze the road as well as all the adjacent buildings and zones to build a bigger/wider road, but money is an issue right now and I have 2 expensive buildings next to that road (mistaaaaaaaaake!).

I have reduced the traffic somewhat by building more roads that connect to the same areas, but I'm still in a bad situation.

So I guess it worked out like any other real life city. Kak traffic in the center of the city :D

i have that issue with where ppl get of the highway. i made the mistake of building my industrial area near the highway now traffic back up on the highway...

Think it's permanently white, no transitions. Only available on 3 specific new maps. Check the LGR review The_Imp_ZA posted earlier from around the 4:47 mark for a summary.

Also from the Steam reviews (sitting at 59% Mixed after 240 reviews):
Unfortunately Snowfall proved to be little more than 3 maps with permanent snow and addition of trams, while i was expecting at least proper seasonal changes.
Essentially, this DLC gives you a few winter maps (permanent/eternal winter... yup), heating requirements, a few new policies, TRAMS (ermergerd very hype much tramline such wow) and some other bits and bobs. It's just... well... meh. I purely bought snowfall just for the trams, and after having played a winter map it's just incredibly dull and follows a cyclical process of repetitive boredom-inducing gameplay: ermergerd snow > temperature plunges > heating requirements go up > snow plows clear roads > temperature goes back up > after a while it goes back down > repeat process. Snow is pretty, snow is nice, but snow alone simply won't suffice.

You can move most service buildings (hospital, school, fire station etc.) if you select that building there is a button on the tooltip which you can click to then relocate the building.

I'd rather they just take their time and spend 6-8 months reworking their systems for a proper expansion. They seem confused when it the handling of their expansions.

This is quite ironic, since Paradox is their publisher. They know how to do proper DLC, perhaps they should give Colossal Order some tips. :p

You guys are firing up my desire to play this game NOW. And I can't, because work and all that jazz...

I read up that a good way to reduce traffic in busy parts of your city is to stick with wide one-way roads and build service roads parallel to them. Then build off- and on-ramps and interchanges at strategic points. I'd love to try that sometime.

I love to this game. I can spend hours trying to set up timed traffic lights (with Traffic President) between my city hubs and then Traffic++ screws it up again.

Did you see there is a Cities Skylines Snowfall out now?

Lol. And yes, 2 videos have been posted about it, but it seems to be not that good.

I unfortunately missed the weekend special on the game. My intention was to buy it Monday evening when I got home from work but then that didn't work out. So now I'll have to wait for a Steam Sale because I so want to play more of this game.

Hmmm I didn't realize the new maps were just eternal snow, would much prefer it to cycle through all the seasons, with the 3 new maps being the ones that would snow in Winter, this just seems more like a small addon.

I think the problem is the blurred lines between DLC and expansions, heck I don't even think full on expansions exist anymore outside of the MMO world.
