Committing corruption too often went unpunished, Auditor General Kimi Makwetu said on Monday.

"Irregular expenditure... still is a major problem," he said on the sidelines of the Institute of Internal Auditors' forum at Emperors Palace.

"A larger part of that problem is about deviations from supply chain management processes, among others... That is a reflection of a lack of proper and strong internal controls."

My question is how someone who has been accused of corruption can then be transferred to another government post as if nothing happened.

There also needs to be more protection for the IA who finds corruption and gets told to back down from their findings. I find it disgusting that whistle-blowers who are doing their job have to step down against those who are stealing from the poor and needy. Personally I feel premiers and mayors should be fined for corruption in their wings which would encourage them to support anti-corruption activities.

Being corrupt is a skill needed to get a job in the guavament.

But yes, this is South africa
 
Too often unpunished? How about never punished?
FFS the tax man will come after you with all it's got if you owe 30c but waste/steal millions and nothing happens.
