CPU prices plummet

So far I have seen that the local prices in Intel have dropped more in relation to what this article says than AMD.

Intel's I7s and AMD's Phenom IIs both managed to grow and extra R1000 on the trip over here

Prices locally have not been affected by this much thanks to the greed of local distributors

I kinda in two minds atm. Should I get a 9550 quad core now or just save up till the Core i7 and DDR3 prices drop..........

Tough one.

I have been wanting to go for the Quad Core, might be the right time for an upgrade :) are rectron following the trend and lowering their prices?

dude go for core i7.It seriously is amazing. My brother has one.It is so stong that ya its just so strong you wont belive it.My heart skipped 10 beats then i fainted then i woke up then i perved over it then i went to bed

The i7 will only benefit you if you do lots of office applications or Video or Image processing but for gaming (Except if you have an SLI set-up, use i7 for Sli) you can still go with the more affordable platforms like Intel LGA775 or AMD Phenom II.

If you it costs about 2k extra to get a i7 setup over a q9550 with a P5Q

dont go for a i7 .... its not worthwhile now it cost way 2 much ... rather wait ... doesnt the i7 run hotter than the other chips too?
