Read this earlier, freaking awesome news. I hope they buy the Darksiders IP or at least get them working on something of a similar vain. So few adventure games in the Darksiders vain exist outside of Zelda.

I wasn't going to buy Crysis 3, but this move just made me a Crytek fan again and as such for saving Vigil they will get my money.

I'm unsure if I would play a new darksiders game if its got a new dev team.
Crytek always has great visuals so I hope they do buy the Darksiders IP and continue the story, it can only become better.

People usually only do 'spiritual successors' when they can't obtain the rights to the original IP. It would generally be preferable to get the rights if you could, that way you can trade on the name recognition and reputation of the franchise.
