Some people believe President Jacob Zuma deserved to be booed at former president Nelson Mandela's memorial service at FNB stadium in Soweto on Tuesday.

"It's because Zuma only considers himself and his family. He has a big house in Nkandla, yet his neighbour's house leaks when it rains," said Ntombi Pasi.

Her friend, who named herself only as Ma Nhose, said she was heartbroken when Zuma was booed.

This was not the time or place to jeer the critter. Reserve it for his next rally or public appearance. Was thinking about it this afternoon and felt a little sorry that it had to happen on so auspicious an occasion.

No doubt he deserves to be booed, but totally the wrong occasion to do it.

I agree. As much as I hate that man, this was not the time.

/sighs

You have got to be kidding, that they still cling to the past like this...

Sadly they do, it so infuriating that people cling to apartheid like it is a incurable disease. You would have to be well over 35+ years of age to even remotely remember or even have experienced it at all.

How ever I do believe that J.Z deserved some kind of "booing" and bad rep, it was just the wrong place and time.

I don't think it was the wrong time. Let the world see how people feel about zuma.

The memorial service was not about Zuma. I agree you cannot ignore the sentiment towards Zuma, but this is starting to overshadow the entire ceremony.

I think it needed to be done. Its in front of the world so people can see that there is no love for zuma. Its a perfect place.

Yeah, all you hear about the memorial service is the JZ booing and Obama's speech. Quite sad how that turned out..

Ok, I don't agree. It showed more folks lack of discipline than anything else.
What is the alternative... bomb people MK style?

This whole show of money; how would you think Mandela would have reacted to it? I'm sorry but there is idolization and then there is paying respect and the latter is not what is going on here IMHO.

It just is too much of cultification instead of the man and how he was...

look closely.

I actually feel bad for the people who lost family in the MK bombing (my aunt was nearly taken out by one in a wimpy) and now have to watch everyone idolising the man who killed their family.

I don't dispute that Mandela did a lot for SA after he was released from Jail, but he also did a lot to SA to get sent to jail.

Back on topic, don't boo the president at a memorial with every other leader watching, it's bad form
