Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition announced

Excellent news. I was just thinking about Dishonored and how I really need to get around to playing it. I loved Arkane's Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Pretty average game TBH. Not sure what you would want to add to it.

I'm sorry, the game was not average at all, the game was great, the mechanics were brilliant, the world was rich and beautiful, maybe our tastes differ, but the game was stellar, the main story might not have been that great, but the gameplay + world more than made up for anything lacking, 10/10 in my books

I have come to the realization that lately it pay's to play games a year after release.

That way you get "complete" games at half the price.

In that vein, Guess I am getting Dishonored pretty soon :D

I've watched the gameplay videos, and trailers before it was released but was never really wowed into buying it. It seemed like Assassins Creed, but darker and more futuristic. I really enjoy the AC games and would probably enjoy this too - anyone care to weigh in?

If you are tired of the monotony of running and gunning, and you want to challenge yourself, get this, it is an AWESOME game, if you were a fan of thief or bioshock, get this, it is similar but obviously aimed at people who love stealth as their main way to game...

It is also a blast to just wreak havoc with your overly powerful abilities... I can't understand why people bitch about this game, it was very refreshing and challenging, better than 75% of the junk copy + paste games out there...

It was better than the average game, but a 10/10 game it certainly was not. There were too many flaws marring the overall game.

What flaws did you encounter or take notice of?

Well, for one, enemies were dumber than a sack of bricks. As long as you stayed above eye level you would never get caught. Some of the levels played out in a too linear fashion, despite the levels themselves being open-ended and overall most of the powers were too overpowered. As an example, Blink made the game completely too easy. They should have made Blink make a loud noise when used to counter how easily you can just zip around the level when using it. Not having your mana instantly regenerate would have been a good idea too.

Other than that, it was a pretty good game. I hope to see another stealth game like it from Arkane.

Vamp, it was Clive who said the game had flaws, to me it was 10/10, what would you rate it at?
I'd give it a 10 [10/10] as well.

True. Certain elements of the game did make it a little too easy. And enemy AI is sometimes very [duh] about their surroundings, but it never killed the experience. Was/Is a good contender in the in its class.

If only developers opened up the game to the modding community. Most the problems I had with the game were relating to arbitrary numbers in some hidden .ini type file that is responsible for setting the "difficulty". The rest could be easily fixed by some community mod.

I have to admit you make fair points but...It 30% of the way into the game you're ridiculously overpowered. Blink made the map your oyster. It really did have depth and it's a work of art in that way, but it's first and foremost a game and for that reason it should be fun. The stealth wasn't challenging at all unless you made it difficult for yourself. I would have liked if you had less powers and really had to figure things out for yourself and sneak instead of blink everywhere
