Do I need to upgrade anytime soon?

hahaha i think the 5870 might be pushing it :P the 5850 is prob the highest i'll go, but whats the deal with the 1gb cards giving problems where the 500mb card running fine??

hmm yeah i think im gona go with the p2350 lol apparently the p2370 isn't adjustable? no tilt? unless i read wrong hah

i got a cooler master psu.. is that a good brand for psu's?? damn lol if its not more and more things are coming up.. gona have to do some intense saving

The CM PSU should be fine. The 5850 should be your best bang for buck bet, although I wonder what the new adjusted prices will be.....

Only possible upgrades I see for your system are a better PSU (corsair 650W maybe) and a DX11 class card. 5850 is definitely the best value-for-money card atm, although when you upgrade, you might be able to get the 5870 for a decent price :)

@ Anon815 - Go for the P2350. It has a matt screen (which is nicer, imho) and its a few hundred rand cheaper than the P2370. Also has a vesa wall mount which is useful. And a better lcd panel, apparently.

What about the P2450? Its retailing for R2050, at WebAntics with free delivery, it also has HDMI, which is a major pluspoint.

hmm i duno hey is there a difference in using a direct hdmi output compared to using an hdmi adapter on a dvi port? cuz i was gona get the p2350 from rebeltech for R1930.. quite a big price diff for the hdmi port :)

Well, the P2450 is a 24" monitor, and with the extra HDMI, you'd be able to connect more Devices(360/PS3/Bluray player/something else) and then use the DVI for your PC.

Hi guys, I'm not all that clued up about latest hardware specs and requirements and stuff, but I'd just like to get a 2nd opinion on whether i need to upgrade my PC anytime soon? and how soon you'd reckon this setup would last me until in terms of new upcoming games etc in 2010.

I'm currently running:

3.0GHz dual core
4gb RAM (think its 800mhz)
geforce 9800gt
550W power supply

running 32bit windows vista atm (thinking of getting win 7 tho)

U gonna need a cpu upgrade, dual core is kaka go core2

This after I just bought a 23"?

Bangs. Head. Against. Wall.

I know the feeling man, I feel your pain!

A wise friend once said, when buying electronics, never look back. Because the second you do, the price will have dropped or something better will be available for cheaper!

Hey your posts are really interesting.

I was also wandering about a upgrade.

My current PC specs are: AMD Phenom x4 9500(2.2)
3Gb Ram
500GB harddrive
9600GT OC

I wanted to upgrade to:
Intel Core2 Quad 9550(2.83)
2GB ram
300GB Harddrive
HD5770

Do you think it is worth it? or should I just upgrade my current graphics card 9600GT to a HD5770.

@ mradsl why is it not possible to keep you 3gb ram and 500gb hard drive?

Unless you really want to have Dx 11 I would go for the HD4890/70

Crzwaco, budegeting does not allow me those extras. I am going to sell my current rig the AMD for R4500.00 and my new pc will be costing about R6400.00 so I still need to make up a bit of extra cash, unless anyone can do the same rig for a smaller price, please let me know or if anyone wants to buy my current rig:(
