Dragon Age 2 signature edition

Flementh wasn't easy and the electrical dragon in awakening either. Even on easy in dao you can't just charge in and rush them, only works on the dragon at the elven ruins in dao. But in da2 you can rush pretty much rush all the dragons, at most you may lose 1 party member. Atleast that's been the case with the 2 dragons I have faced so far.

But story is great and makes up for this.

The difficulty of Normal was drastically toned down. If you found Normal to be your ideal difficulty in DA:O PC, you should play on Hard or Nightmare. Friendly fire only seems to be enabled on Nightmare.

I played through on Nightmare and there were definitely some very challenging and long boss fights. I took me 20min+ to kill the end boss in Deep Roads and quite a few attempts since he could easily insta kill one of my squishies with some of his combos. I quite enjoyed this fight.

In general though it is a much easier game.

one more thing, to folks who had a save game from Da:O. any difference in the game?

i'd like to know as i'm currently mulling over replaying da:o if there is any significant differences in DA 2

Not much the odd mention of events but nothing major. At least not so far and I am 2/3's through.

Lol, I playing on Normal and am finding the game challenging! I played DAO on Normal as well btw...

Normal is pretty easy well except for one fight that was glitch where I get knocked down 98% of the time and could do nothing. Tried a few reloads but had to go put it on casual to get past that fight.

I had to tone the difficulty to casual at most boss encounters, really struggled with the dragon in the deep roads as well as the stone wraith there, but I think it was my (poor) choice of party members. :p

Those where easy compared to the Fight in the keep where you fight the boss there

LOL, I must just suck at this then :p. Everything so far has been perfectly fine on normal except for most boss encounters. I might just be too lazy too work on a stratetgy to take them down or I have the wrong party members, or I really do suck. After dying at a boss for the 6th or 7th time I just give and switch to casual so I can continue the story without too much delay.

Your doing something wrong since its really really not so hard where you die 6/7 times.

Probably, but I don't really care. If I can't beat a boss on normal I just switch to casual to beat him and then switch back to normal. I did, however, just discover the respec potion at the black emporium so I reset all the attribute and skill points that I wasted to make my character more focused in specific disciplines and things have been going a lot better since then.

I had to drop the difficulty to casual on one of the quests, I probably tried about 10 times to do it on normal and seriously was impossible and very frustrating.

I can't help but feel that DA2 is a little imbalanced.

Otherwise great game, really really enjoying it!

The Bosses are Hard at Normal difficulty, especially the Rock Wraith. - because you dont have any decent healer companion, Anders only, but he can't heal normally, so bosses are a pain in the @ss

Who are you choosing as your companions guys?
For the life of me I find almost EVERY boss fight hard and eventually tone it down to casual to pass :(. I'm playing as a Mage specializing in Primal.

Btw, I read on one of the loading screens that you can buy a "reviving" potion of sorts that will bring unconscious party members out of unconsciousness. Now I've looked almost everywhere but I can't figure out where I can buy this potion :(! Do you guys know where I can find it?

My character is a blood mage and I have Fenris and Isabela as permanent companions and the last slot I alternate between Anders, Varric and Sebastian. Anders can also revive fallen party members if you choose the right ability. Ever since I bought a respec potion and put more points into constitution my blood mage has fared a lot better. I don't think I've died once since then.

Personally I think DA2 has balance issues. It's either really easy or freaking difficult (on normal).

A bit disappointing.

If your struggling, you can just kite everything to death. When the tougher creatures target someone, pause the game as they turn to that character before they get a swing off, take control of that character, unpause and run around in circles. Unless the creature has a homing ranged attack (rock wraith boss phase 1, spread out and use pillars to LOS him), they cannot damage you while you are moving.

Anders heals are very good but you have to use potions as well. Also take control of him he has good control spells as well. Its also good to have his spellpower and wisdom high since there are a lot of sustained spells under the creation and his special.

At the Black emporium. Since I am a rogue I use Meril Fenris and anders. Or Varric Anders fenris or Verric merill Fenris.

Primal is sick but you need someone like a 2 handed swordsman to do the final blows.

Where? The bosses are tough sure but they are not unbeatable except of the one I know off if your not correctly specked he/it takes you out no problems

As for the rock vraith Just kill the creeps around him and just use healing(anders.potions) and in time you will kill him. Just hide your melee characters let the range guys keep shooting. If it uses the other skill where he shoot stuff in all directions just cover behind the rocks. Ctrl+a to select everyone and just give them the command.
