DVD/CD cleaning

Not sure if I should post this in the gaming section or the hardware section. Anyway I have a problem with two of my game discs, they keep giving me redundancy errors when trying to install. Anyway know of a way or a place that can clean your dvd's??

either try "cd clinic" as seen on tv available at game/makro etc (i use this on rental dvds)

or

if you have car polish, apply it liberally, let dry and wipe off with a soft cloth (use this method if i buy 2nd hand games and it seems to work every time)

As MooDy said, most rental stores should offer the service. But you can buy self-clean kits that work wonders.

heard the same thing, i can always try and test for you guys - as brasso is basically a polich anyways, so i see no reason why it should not work

maybe try a program like cd check, as it "rips" all data from a damaged disc, but i guess it only works for data, and you are trying to install a game

If I can rip all the data, then I should be able to install the game from the h/d and just use a no cd exe to run it.

Will try cd check

Good luck. I've used one of these ripping programs on a scratched disk myself and it worked like a charm so there must be something out there.

Tried it. No luck, not sure if its disc or the file that has gotten totally corrupted but even trying to use cd check it still can't read datacab4. Still going to try a few things but its not looking very good.
