EA admits overdoing it in 2008

The last few months of 2008 were ridiculous.

I still haven't got around to more than half the games that came out in that period. You would think publishers would be smarter when planning their release dates.

Yeah this was definately an overkill. I bought both Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3, and I sadly haven't played more than 30 minutes of either of them.

Red Alert is one of my favorites... but it might be many months before I have enough time to get around to that one.

I have finished both with 50 plus hours in FC2 and 100 plus hours in Falout3.

They were my games of the year last year.

Tinman not sure if someone has pointed this out yet but in the article its says "last 3 months of 2009", it should be 2008.

Yeah I noticed that as well, someone made a comment on the page of the article. Sure Tinman will get around to fixing the typo :)

yeh they rushed hecticly!!

must create some anticipation first then release late!

It's probably deadlines that forced them in addition to trying to get some money in... it didn't help though. They made huge losses regardless.

They have admitted their errors but lets see if they learn from it. Seeing as they are delaying a lot of games recently do to marketing reasons and launching them all in the second part of 2009, I doubt their words will be reflected in their actions.

That was their own fault. Push out too many games at the same time and people are going to get picky about what they buy. No-one is going to buy everything.

Add to that the fact that half the titles they release these days are heaps of steaming ****

I think if we can boycott enough and put them out of business we'll be doing the gaming industry a huge favour.

EA is in real danger with all the crap they spew out, being just profit driven won't get you into the lead, sure profit is important but so is originality and quality. EA was lacking those!
