Early Look: The Sims 3

And to think my cousins own pretty much all the expansions, heck I even bought them one because they love it so much. I still hate it with every fiber of my being.

LOL
MY brother in law bought my sis every single expansion to date..Its quite sad.
Now he'll probably buy her this and all the expansions that follow..lol!!

So.... thus far just dudes that posted in here to say how much they LOVE The Sims (ok, cept Tarvos and Isengard-san :D)...

Where the hell is the chicks and 10 year old girls?

/looks at the dudes

:D

Honestly, I would much rather play WoW. I played SIMS on one of my mate's PC once, and I promised myself that I would NEVER, NEVER taint my PC by installing that.

Lol a friend of mine played sims just for building houses. He never played the actual game. He's houses looked awesome though.
Anyways I'll also have a looksie on how the 3rd installment of sims will offer. Sims2 was a massive leap from the original.

Thats what i used to do when i was still in school, got bored with trying to get the Sim to get enough points to get a promo at their jobs, so just started building houses and sims. This provided endless hours of entertainment.

Does anyone else find that the Sims is good for maybe 10 minutes of gameplay before you start killing them off? :D

I just can't seem to get my head around keeping them alive, nurturing them through their lives and so on. Sims 3 looks like technologically it'll be pretty cool but I doubt it'll keep me going for very long.

Wow. I think you got ripped off.

Since I'm so fond of blasting this game, I'll be fair and give some background. I got Sims 1 when it first came out and loved it for at least one week. Typing in the money cheat, building awesome houses, and at that tender age, removing the bath tub while my characters were using it -- I loved the game. The only problem is, once you unpause, your character whinges. Oh god, the whinging.

I had to feed it. I send it to cook, but then it has to pee. Which first? Well, since he's started cooking, he can hold it. No. No he can't, he has to pee and he has to do it now. Well, Mr. Fancy Pants, go and pee. No. He can't do that, he's too dirty. I don't know about you, but I pee before I shower.

Either way, he goes to shower. But then he's so hungry. So he eats, but he can't eat because he has to pee, which he can't do because he has no fun. Out sequence: Always pee before watching a movie. Make snacks before hand. Eventually your character dies, proving that you should never get married, never have children, because it will utterly, 100%, ruin your life. And that's the moral of The Sims.

What's worse is the games haven't changed. It's practically the exact same engine with slightly -- and slightly meaning very, very slightly -- better graphics, some more options and some more houses.

We all know that this game appeals to 10 year old girls who enjoy the part where you (rape) have sex with someone. But it doesn't count, because the game gives you life skills.

Well you really hate the game it seems. Fair enough, but it has kept me entertained for brief periods of time :p

I wont be forking out any money for it, but if a friend buys it I might try it out.

Yeah that's what I'm saying :D Brief periods of time only :)

I loved putting them in a pool and removing the ladder :D Good fun.
