Easter eggs and secrets of games you played before the internet found it for us.

Tsar

The thing that should not be
Ok back in the day when most of us did not have the net you would stumble upon secretes in games.

So I will start:

MK 2 Fighting smoke after doing the right kombo of buttons on the portal level with toasty popping out. Did not know what the kombo was but I did it by mistake and started fighting smoke. This was on the arcade version. I was so amazed.

MK 3(original not ultimate.)
There was a endurance mode hidden in mk 3. All you had to do was hold down all the buttons on each sega controller and press start. It was in debug mode and only on the subway and street level. Also you would choose six(I think might have been eight)characters and you would duke it out. Was fun.

Dark forces 2 I found sam and max in a room.:p Don't remember what level it was.

Quake 1 Nightmare mode was hidden on hard difficulty. You had to go to hard on the entrance hallway. then down a magical pond or something like that.

Serous sam to many to list.:p

Some where in unreal 2 I found a turning box with photos of the development team.

Duke3d we all know those ones. finding the doom marine, terminater,Indiana Johns, strippers in a cave,Alien,Simpsons,Star trek and so on.

In Duke3D there was an easter egg on one of the boss levesl.I remember it vaguely that you had to fight an alien in some snow arena.Thing is if you wandered off far enough in the right direction you would find a cabin there.Inside the cabin would be ammo and guns and.....Lara Croft.....that you could do the dirty with.

Wow I never found that.

What!? Insane. *searches for Kill-a-ton collection*

Actually you know what. After checking up on it now.It wasn't Lara Croft in that cabin, it was just a random babe you can schtick for health.Lara Croft you find earlier on in Babe Land levels.

It has been 13 years since I played it so my mistake.

Commander Keen 4 had an Area called Pyramid of the Moons
His Idle Animation while standing on the Entrance Moons would be exactly that, to moon you :/

Descent II - If you used the Cheat code form the First one it would display a message saying something like Caught a Cheater or something and lower all your HP

Daikatana - The Dopefish Lairs, I think they were EE's

System Shock 2 had one of the developers faces painted into a texture on one of the large enemies, the ones that normally killed you if you didn't have a whole clip of AP rounds available to make it stop in its tracks

I can remember playing the First HL and finding ares where the Grunts had sprayed messages to Freeman, they were normally in places where you were falling or about to die

lol and on a related note, the Original Xfiles Soundtrack disk had a line in it on the backpage, 0 is also a number
If you inserted the CD into a player and hit rewind the DIsk would first go to track 0 and then track 00
These were two remixed versions of the Xfiles theme song

I remember in Blood 2 there was a room with, I think, either alien or predator skeletons, or both. You had to follow a tunnel with some bolted to the roof.

Quake 2, the end level, if you went onderground, well there are two doors to go underground, the tunnel for a T, at the bottom of the T there's a door which if you shoot it, will open. Follow the tunnel and you get to photographs of the id team and even further, you will find a tank with a female strogg sitting on his lap.

Warcraft 3
Wirts 'other' leg
Secret sheep level
Hydralisk at top of map

Yes, I found those by myself.

In Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory they make a whole bunch of references to metal Gear Solid.

In Metal Gear Solid 2 there are a few places where you can find "Vulcan Raven" figurines from the 1st game. and in MGS3 they have models of MG REX and RAY in the office of that one dude. (Forget the name.) And that monkey and frog with the light thing on it's head that I forget the reference to.

On Tachyon: The Fringe you get treated to lovely ridicule whenever you use a cheat code.

The Giant Ant level of Red Alert 1 Aftermath expansion.

Too many to mention in Serious Sam, like Tsar said. (Average of about 5 per stage)

The photon blaster in CoD 5 W@W

The worst part about not using the net to get a list of these is that you might find something that ou think is pretty cool and then just find out its a game feature :/
Or Vice Versa
