EFF registers political party

The Economic Freedom Fighters has been registered as a political party with the Independent Electoral Commission.

"The registration of EFF... is a historic moment and the beginning of a real radical, militant, and decisive political programme which will lead to real emancipation of the people of South Africa, Africa, and the world," EFF leader Julius Malema said on Thursday.

Malema said the approval meant the party would contest the general elections in 2014, and win.

Great, this just strengthens the ANC come election season. Every time another party signs up it just divides the opposition vote thus making ir harder to oppose the ANC in office.

It could just as easily weaken them.

Don't be surprised if the EFF actually makes some decent headway - after all, their mandate is "Free shit, f*ck all work" which is just what 98% of this country want.

And all these little parties eventually just empower the ruling party. They're better off forming a coalition which at least can remove Zoomer and his fat friends from power - but I guess, politics is politics... i.e. everyone wants to be in charge.
