Electronic Arts Confirms Danger Close Closure

EA Vice President Patrick Söderlund says the Medal of Honor studio "doesn't exist anymore."
The 2010 Medal of Honor reboot and its 2012 sequel, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, were both stinkers, Warfighter faring so poorly that it prompted Electronic Arts to take it out behind the shed and give it the Old Yeller. And since Danger Close, previously known as EA Los Angeles, was specifically tasked with making Medal of Honor games - on the assumption that it would be a major, Modern Warfare-style franchise - it was a safe bet that the studio's days were numbered, especially after EA opened a Los Angeles branch of Battlefield studio DICE in May.
EA has previously refused to comment on the studio's fate but in an interview with Eurogamer, Söderlund, the executive vice president of the EA Games Label, confirmed that Danger Close is done. "Danger Close as it was doesn't exist anymore," he said. "There are people who left LA, people who work with DICE LA, and there are some who work in other parts of EA, as always when something gets dismantled."
It's always sad to see a developer go under, but the risk to studios that are purpose-built for a particular franchise, especially one that's relatively untried, is high - and in this case, the outcome was all but inevitable

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125047-Electronic-Arts-Confirms-Danger-Close-Closure well after two bombs I didn't see any other outcome :(

i personally feel that the 1st one was quite a good game, . never played the second one but i've read most reviews and it didnt seem like it was half as good as the 1st

I really liked the first one, 2nd missed the ball but I don't think it deserved to flop. I think they rushed it out to vs Cod and that was purely due to EAs arrogance.

yeah loved the first one, but EA is just too focused on profit now to care about great games, good enough for release seems to be the order of the day

I didn't think they would last long. I didn't hear many good reports or reviews on the games they made.

EA is the perfect example of everything that's wrong with gaming nowadays.
I think if these guys weren't developing Medal of Honor with a corporate gun to their heads it would've been more to people's liking. It probably would have only come out a year later but it would've been worth it.
You can see a big lack of polish and finish in many an EA game these days. I was actually playing some EA sports titles over the weekend and noticed that the Tiger Woods games that have come out recently don't have transision animations and the players have no voices even when you sometimes see them talking or saying something. Not major faults but shows a lack of commitment to the license on EA's part.

That and that sometimes sequels are too often rushed out to try cash in on the hysteria. If a sequel is in order, rather make sure that it is as epic or better than the first edition. Anything less is going cheese fans off of getting anything else by that name.

Knew i wasnt mad!!
