Gaming "collectors editions" with figurines

I was wondering why people pay more for a collectors edition that has action figurines.
Anyone out there collect this stuff ?

Im a big fan of medieval statuettes , I have a bunch of them standing around my house.
Why I like them , I guess , is a matter of nostalgia for an era romanticized in movies.
I love medieval games too.

So Im just wondering , why do people collect action figures ?
or is my collection of medieval statuettes just a grown up version of action figures ?

I have a a few WoW figurines standing on my desk. If I have some extra cash lying around, I usually tend to grab another. They quite pricey tho.

Haven't bought a CE yet with a figurine

I got Aion CE with my little figurine :3

I need to point out a rather important distinction though. There's a huge difference between an action figure and a figurine - figurines are meant for display only (so you can call them statuettes of a sort as well), whereas an action figure is meant to play with.

I've got a bunch of anime figurines - and I'm death on someone touching them - precisely because they're so costly. Only time I ever pick them up is when there's cleaning to be done ... dust loves collecting in all the various folds, crevices etc on them.

Mind you: the above is my personal interpretation - others may disagree ;)

I don't know why I like collecting the figurines, but I do. I must have this:

files.php

Strangely enough the only figurune I got with a CE is my Bioshock1 Big Daddy. Pretty good looking one imho. The Batman one doesn't look to bad either.

My other CE bundles include a vinal record I got with Bioshock2 CE and an unusable flask I got with my COD: WaW CE.

I Collect Alien and Predator Action Figures and Memorabilia. Love the series (comics, books, movies , series etc etc)

Plassie, by no stretch of the imagination can you call your collection of blowup dolls , alien or predator action figures
Look I know that your budget ones, the inner tubes with lipstick around the outside are ugly, but still, not entirely alien are they?

I've only got the Aion figurine for the gaming side of things. *cries about missing out on Fallout bobblehead*
It's nice having these on display in your gaming den.

Collect other random figurines/models, namely dragons, Star wars, USS enterprise and lord of the rings statues.

something about scorpion with his "get over here" ropespear going through sub zero in the mortal kobat kollectors edition is just highly appealing to me... plus you get a book with it :)
