I got my PC hooked up to my 37" Samsung LCD over HDMI and it's great!

Few points of my own:

I'd say rather buy a screen that can handle higher resolutions rather and lower resolutions. You can always turn down the resolution, so for future proofing yourself higher is better (if you wish to keep your screen of over 5 years). Depends on your budget and long term goals though.

Interesting that back-light bleeding was left out.Although it'll mainly apply to those of use in a dark room playing one of those top 9 scariest games. The edges, or corners of the screen become lighter than the rest of the screen
Here is a good example. It's hard to detect this problem in a store though. I'd say stick with trusted brands on these ones, or do some googling/check out a friends screen first.
 
Something that might help increase performance for those of you with 2 screens.

my 8600gt was having trouble handeling my 23" and 22" especially when it came to gaming, then I switched my 22 to my onboard graphics and kept my 23 on my 86gt it improved allot.
