Having problems with my Razer gear. Pls help

Hey guys, I have a Razer Naga Hex mouse, had it for about 6 months now, been working really well no issues. However, I recently (about a month ago) bought a Razer Anansi MMO Keyboard, really cool features blah blah blah. But now every now and then, and I would even go so far as to say 7/10 times I switch my rig on the mouse no visible to the computer if I can out it in that sense. So I have to take the mouse out of the usb port and reinsert it, then it works fine. I have also had a few times where my keyboard would just be like utterly screwed, all the keys would represent a different key, eg, Enter would be like Tab, Shit would be like Control etc. Then I need to leave the game and restart the pc just to get that to work.

Has anyone else had these issues? If so what can I do about it? I have sent the problem report to Razer and I am yet to get a response from them which is shocking imo.

IF it where me, i would try both peripherals with another PC, have you tried this yet?

Its very odd that both are giving issues at the same time, also did the problem start only once you got the keyboard?

Driver issue perhaps or synapse compatibility issue?

Well no, I havent tried it on other PC's yet, only have one here at home, and dont really know any gamers so dont really have someone who I can go to and try it out on their pc's :(

Drivers are all up to date, the last Synapse update was this morning at like 4am when I went to bed I think.

I dont really know if it is just the kb that is screwing with everything, because everything was fine before this...

I uninstalled synapse as soon as i figured out how crappy it was.

I have a Black Widow, works fine without synapse. It used to make my mouse pointer shake without the mouse even moving.

You need to work on a process of elimination, possibly look at your event logs as well. If everything was fine before then think to yourself what has changed and go back to that. Even if it means plugging in your old keyboard to see if it does the same thing.

Thanks for the tips guys. Didnt know that it can work without the synapse, good to know.

As for "event logs", I have no idea what u are talking about, I know very little about pc's and or games. All I know, is everything worked awesome until I installed the driver software for the Anansi keyboard. But I will follow the advice and delete the software and then try reinstall all the stuff and see if that works.

Anything else?

Exactly what it needs to \

okay cool so its not the layout.

with windows 7 just type in Event in the search bar at the start menu. this should give you event viewer and you can see anything that's critical. Click on windows log and applications. Or on administrator events.

Strangely this is the last thing I did before my Razer mouse starting effing out. Was at a friend's house and used his Razer keyboard with my Razer mouse. It also then started turning itself off. It got to the point where it would switch itself off every 5-10 minutes. I eventually said eff it and bought a Logitech mouse again. I tried sending it back to Razer and they promptly sent it back after a week saying they could not replicate it and that the mouse was fine. I got home from picking it up, plugged it in and 5 minutes later it turned off again.

I'll never buy another Razer product again

Atleast you didn't buy thermatake. When i got my PC the Thermatake Esports Challenger Pro i worked perfectly!...Up until the moment it died 2 -3 months later. Bought http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-blackwidow-ultimate/ as a replacement for R1499. I can't say its awesome but i also can't say it sucks. It also did that "Wax on. Wax off" thing but after trying all logical solutions and still did not work. i left the whole PC off for a day or 2. It came on and never went off again xD typing on it right now(Touchwood!)

Ok and now what do I do from this point?

WTF that is slightly ridiculous! Now this morning switching on my pc the mouse worked fine but none of the macro keys and or short cut keys were picked up, tried going to the Razer settings and it didn't exist as if I never even had the thing in the first place. I then switched my rig off and and on, then the mouse wasn't found, unplugged it and then plugged it in again and then everything was fine.

Seriously considering buying a new mouse, not that pulling the thing out of the usb port and putting it back in is too much effort, I just dont really wana support a company who would not even reply to a mail after having a client that has bought 3 or their very expensive products!

Thinking about buying the sc keyboard and mouse, not too sure just yet, anyone know anything about those?

If you do consider getting new gaming gear then go ROCCAT,their gear is top notch except for their newest keyboard which is more for gaming.

Well if I buy new gear it will all be for gaming, that is why I bought the PC. But thanks, I will give ROCCAT a look then.

What I am asking, is after I find the event viewer, what do I do with what I am looking at lol. I can't take it back cuz BT Games said that they have a 7 day return policy, I bought the mouse in March or Feb and the keyboard like 2 months ago...

Razer has a one year warranty on all their devices. Don't take lame excuses from the BT employees - take it back for a warranty swap or get them to give you a new one. You did keep the original box, right? If not, it's no train smash, but may need a sterner approach to getting what you want out of this whole thing. Tell them that it's your only mouse - this part is important.

According to the Consumer Protection Act, you can also return a product within six months without penalty if it no longer fits the purpose it was originally purchased for and doesn't match up to the quality you expected of it:

4) Implied Warranty of quality.

In terms of s56 (read with s55) of the CPA, all goods sold to a consumer are sold with an implied warranty of quality, that cannot be contracted out of or revoked. The warranty gives the consumer the right to receive goods that:

are reasonably suitable for the purpose that they are intended to be used for,
are of good quality, free of defects and in good working order, and
will be durable and usable for a reasonable period of time.

If goods are found not to comply with these requirements then;

up to 6 months after receiving the goods;
the consumer can return the goods, or
get the goods replaced, or
get the goods repaired.
The consumer can do any of these things without penalty; and
at the suppliers cost.

In future, keep four things in mind:

  • Steelseries
  • Logitech
  • Corsair
  • Cooler Master

In that order. Those four companies make solid gaming peripherals.
