High latency with certain international severs on Telkom

High latency with certain international servers on Telkom

Good morning everyone

For the majority of my Telkom usage if have been getting higher ping that everyone of my friends. When they play League of Legends and such they will get 160ms ping while I sit with a 220-240ms ping.

Last month I was throttled and then when I was unthrottled this month my ping decided to also move down to the 160ms range, this was quite a nice suprise, but now sadly as of the end of last week it is back to 240ms and randomly spikes to the 300-500 range.

Am I the only one who experiences such problems with international gaming on European servers?

That's the thing though. I pingtest the great britain server and get 170ms and on certain CS:GO servers i can get 150-170ms on EU servers. So why suddenly have specific servers decided to become so unstable.

Maybe they having ISP problems?

Getting 300 ms now to local servers after a good weekend and Telkom won't fix their ISP :(.

I realize that this is an old thread, but it still might be helpful for some. If you are looking for a better quality international server, you can check this company out. I've been satisfied so far.
 
Dude you're still lucky I get around 400 - 600ms ping playing dota 2 and tf2. Back in the day it used to be 40ms
 
I have exactly the same problem. I am with Level 7 Wireless Internet.
I got 400+-ms ping on Telkom JHB servers. I emailed them and asked whats what.

They told me the ip get routed to UK for some reason. Not sure why or how. Not sure if that is the same problem as you might be having.
