Intel's Skylake processors are being discontinued

Intel has discontinued several 6th-generation Skylake processors, which have been succeeded by the Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake architectures.

Time to hop onto that 7th Gen, Kaby Lake or wait a bit for the new 8th gen Coffee Lake chips to arrive.
