Just Another Gfx Card Thread

So my GTX560 TI decided to retire this morning and I need a replacement. I don't want to bother with anything high end because I don't play the latest, demanding games and also, it's something to tide me over for a few months before I head to the UK.

So, with that being said, I would like some feedback for something nothing more than like R1600. Also, I am going to change my allegiance from Nvidia to Amd because, well, they seem to be more bang for buck, heh. At this moment, just doing my own browsing, I've been looking at these 3 cards -

SAPPHIRE HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR5:

Good cards, bad cards? All feedback welcome.

Apologies for thread-bombing, but will a Radeon 7770 fit in a Coolermaster Elite 344?

It's width is a couple of (mm) more than the case, and worrying to me. For me, it's between that and a GeForce GTX650. I also don't want to spend too great a fortune on a card.

Bottom line: a Radeon 7770 vs a GeForce GTX650 (able to fit in a Coolermaster Elite 344)

HD7770 if you want that extra bit of performance, the 7750 will also get the job done.

It should fit without any problems, the Elite is 43.6 cm in length and the HD 7770 is 21.4 cm in length.

ye that card is like well north of R2k ...... budget stated in my post.

@Glordit & AT - thanks, the 7770 is the one I've settled on. Should keep me happy for a while.

Nvidia 9600GT? fairly old card so you could probably get away with a 5670/6570 just depending on what you can get hold of.

I think a 5450 might be a bit weaker than a 9600GT. The 5 series was around at the same time as the Nvidia 2 series, comparably the ATI 4 series was around during the Nvidia 9 series. So, by that a 5450 is an entry level thing while the 9600GT was a mid range card of a previous generation. Depends what performance needs or if its just something to plug a monitor in to?
