Those trends don't really mean much in the long run, because the market CoD caters for isn't likely to consist of a lot of people who search for new info on google every day.

BF3 and CoD pretty much cater to the same market. And that market is trying to stay up to date with the latest news and info. And it includes new and old users.

Those trends can tell you a hell of a lot if you take the time to analyse them and dig deeper.

CoD caters more to the casual market, the frat guy who wants a quick gaming fix, the ouballie that doesn't have time to play something more complex, etc. Those poeple don't sit around reading every news article on the game that comes by. Those people are also the reason CoD is still going to outsell BF3.
