LAN Game suggestions

So I have not hosted or been at a lekker LAN in a while.
Only for team practice and so on, but even then only playing 1 game and online mostly.

What LAN Games can you guys suggest that are still fun to play. New or old games.
 
depends on how many are at lan, and whether online connectivity (read DRM/legality issues) is available. I'll try have for more/fewer ppl and offline
CSGO/1.6
COD zombies
left for dead 1/2
diablo 2
FIFA 13 (the last one that had offline LAN iirc...might have been 11 or 9 actually. shrug)
GTA V


Then if you are able to have dedicated servers games like Ark or Rust could be quite fun in a LAN environment

I mean CSGO alone has quite a number of cool workshop maps like hide and seek etc that can be very fun to play with mates :)

Left for dead is an Awesome CoOp Lan game!

DC++ was always the top played at LAN's.

A new extended version of Alien Swarm has just released - it's a great co-op game that requires a good deal of team work and is a blast to play at a LAN: http://store.steampowered.com/app/563560/

We've also had good fun playing Killing Floor (you'll need to connect to one of the local servers though)

Insurgency is also good fun to play at a LAN

Yeah a varsity buddy of mine got me into it a few years back....i was rather into it, except there were barely any lobbies or people playing :(
 
Really depends on the crowd.

I've seen both RTS heavy crowds and FPS heavy ones.

Both are fun, but that's pretty much prerequisite knowledge. Or you can just play W3 tower defences until they decide which type of crowd they are.
 
here's what me and my friends usually play when we lan.

CoD 2
CoD 4 MW
CoD WaW
Farcry 2
Babo Violent 2.
Half Life 2 DeathMatch
Warcraft 3 TFT
Counter Strike.
 
For those who only have 3 friends:
- Borderlands (or any of the sequels)
- Torchlight II (or the first one)

For those with more (can't imangine it "whistling:):
- CoD Modern Warfare 2
- CS (I wanna say source? :rolleyes:)
