Looking for work

Hi All

So I am looking for a new job in warehousing or logistics as I left the previous company I was working for for various reasons.
Ideally I would like to start working where I live (if anybody knows of anything in Cape Town :D) however I have been told to consider looking overseas.
I got an email from a place called Global Workers (apparently in KZN) who charge R1 000 to find work overseas etc, problem is it is non refundable if they find work within 14 days and has no mention of salary package so could find myself being offered a general worker type job rather than something in line with my experience.
Has anybody heard of them or know of any other reputable international work places dealing in this particular sector?
 
Nope Sales consultants normally do sales - I cant sell anything. So not for me :D But thanks for the thought [MENTION=20]Solitude[/MENTION]
 
Nope...run like hell. R1k to find you a job overseas will get you a job packing fish in a stinky factory. At best. As a reference point, recruiter for my overseas job placement got paid 140k...and that's pretty much normal for mid tier professional appointment.

There is zero chance in hell of 1k getting you anything except scammed.

Very hard to get a feel for what your skillset is based on your post. And frankly that will determine the route. Similarly you seem somewhat undecided on local vs overseas. Decide that first. Overseas should be feasible...if you've got a logistics degree. If not I'd rate your chances slim to be honest. Locally I'd start by looking at companies that move a lot of products that are refrigerated. Based on my experience those are the ones most likely to spend $$$ on logistics. That and obviously moving companies / courier companies but that is a different game as far as I can tell.
 
Thanks Havoc, yeah I put it through in to the spam side of my mail.

I don't have a degree which is what scares me about overseas work.
Since this post a couple things have come up so holding thumbs and praying all goes well with them, especially the one.

Lack of degree shouldn't scare you. Overseas isn't a whole lot different from SA work wise. The average standard is slightly higher due to better avg education levels but that's about it. It's more a case of without a degree the chances of meeting the immigration req are rather slim.
