need a new motherboard and cpu

I am posting this from my phone. My cpu gave up the ghost.

I need something that's a decent price. I had a amd quad core black edition.

I also want a new motherboard I can't check prices on my phone just need a general idea. Would intel be better than amd?

You need to give a budget Tsar, then one can weigh up the options, but generally AMD is cheaper and Intel has better performance depening on your budget ofc.

Yip ram is really cheap right now, but a 8GB kit will still set you back around R550.
Something a long these lines:

i5 2400 (Quad Core with Turbo)
ECS P67H2-A3 (Decent board)
Patriot G2 DDRIII 1600 2x4GB

That'll set you back around R3250

Alternatively you can go for:

AMD FX-6100, 3.3GHz (6 Core)
MSI 970A-G46 AM3+
Patriot G2 DDRIII 1600 2x4GB

That'll set you back around R3100

They are both good..Honestly I would choose the Intel setup and yeah it is really good.

Neah you're current psu will be fine..by the 585W I am guessing its a Gigabyte Odin
