Noisy Tower - Solution?

I have a very noisy tower, the tower fans seem to be main cause of the noise. It is an el cheapo tower so I'm not all that suprised. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem or is there a new tower I can look at getting that is a lot quieter?

If you hold the side panels tight does it help? If the side panel might just need to be tightened. Or you could just try smacking the tower and see if the noise stops - used to work for me. Otherwise check if the fans are not overly dusty.

It seems that the fan in the power supply is often the problem, check if it's that fan or one of the others. If you can't clean the fans, you can always replace them, maybe upgrade your PSU as well... Otherwise try blowing compressed air through the fans. Maybe give them a spray of Q20?

If your cooling is mainly 80mm elcheapo case fans i'm afraid it will be loud and inefficient. You can try replacing them with decent 120s. It could also be that the case is poorly constructed so parts are rattling and making the sound problem worse. Acoustics are always bad in cheap cases though. I could suggest a number of alternatives if you have a budget in view.
