Pokémon Go rolling out tracking feature that actually works

The Pokémon Go team have announced the wider roll-out of a new tracking feature that has been in testing in the United States.

The "root = no pokemon" stance they have has effectively killed it for me. Sorry, my gf's phone has an unlocked bootloader and short of entirely wiping the device to factory defaults (the ONLY purpose of unlocking bootloader was so we could transfer data across to it anyway) pokemon GO refuses to work. So its killed any drive i had of playing the game, as its rude of me to play in front of her.
