In recent forum postings, Slightly Mad Studio Head Ian Bell confessed that his team is having trouble getting Project Cars to run at acceptable levels on Wii U.

Bell says the game is running at about "23 fps" right now at 720p resolution, and is concerned they'll have to sacrifice some of the graphical fidelity for better performance.

"We could reach a fairly solid 30FPS but it might take a hell of a lot of work," he writes. "On the other hand, about halfway through us finishing, Nintendo might announce a new console (I have zero knowledge on this BTW but I've heard 'rumours'). Our work might just be the best thing that ever hit that new console in the driving sim genre."

Bell hints strongly several times that he's hoping to learn more about the NX, the next generation Nintendo console the company announced in March, at E3.

"Honestly, unless we really cut the looks back I think we're looking to Nintendo's next console," he writes in another posting.

So far, no release date has been announced for the Wii U.

Don't even know why you'd want a title like this on Wii-U.

the problem with the wii U is it has a dx11 gpu and 2 gigs of ram but the processor is vastly underpowered, compared to the 360 & ps3 which have much stronger cpu's but are hampered by their 512 megs ram and dx9 based gpu's.
