PS4 launch in October: rumour

If this is truth to its words, it'll sure hurt Xbox One sales as a result. Depending on if there are more Xbox fanboys than PS fanboys [like myself].

Day one sales and then Black Friday followed by Xmas

That's clever

its going to be a month difference between the two launch dates of the two consoles im sure people will be willing to wait a month longer for an xbox one (it launches in november afaik), its not the same as what happened the previous/current gen where one console launched a whole year before the other one. its not like sony is going to sell 10 million consoles in the month before the xbone is launched.

^^ But that's for the Americans and Canadians, and the other 11 countries now getting the Xbox One at launch. We're, like, probably 6-8 months out from launch and the countries in the next wave periods are now being adjusted.

I think Microsoft has bit off more than it can chew here. That eSRAM manufacturing is killing their ability to meet demand, because it's a tricky thing to make. Gamescom will be the point where we can finally see how things will play out. If Sony has a worldwide launch with sufficient stocks to meet pre-orders, with production ramping up nicely for the restocks, that will be very difficult for Microsoft to play down.

I don't think they're even in a position for a November 5 launch, as some GAFers have suggested. Their policies change on a weekly basis and the damage done by Mattrick can't be reversed now.
