Hey guys so i'm starting to build my first gaming rig.. buying parts every 2 weeks cuz im broke as hell.. So far i've bought a HAF 922 mid size tower, and an EVGA x85 FTW3 Mobo.. I was just wondering if a Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield would be compatable with the mobo since the mobo sais it wants a LGA 1366 and the Intel Core i5 is a LGA 1156... i know im a complete noob at this stuff so be nice
Unfortunately the i5 cpu won't work with that board, as it's a different pin count
On the other hand, you've bought a very nice board, which uses Intels current top-of-the-line processor series (the i7). The cheapest i7 around at the moment is the i7 930. It can be had for around R2500. If you want something a little faster, you can get the i7 950 for around R200 more.
