So, who's going? It's going to be my third year, flying up from Cape Town. I'll be spending most of my time hustling unsuspecting schoolkids on the Guitar Hero displays.

Going to be a lot of cool stuff worth seeing this year. *taps nose*
 
I'm going to skip this year. I was there in 2006/2007 and even dragged my GF along for the 2008 one.

2008 wasn't that impressive and money's tight at the moment.

2006's Xbox launch was pretty epic.
 
I wanna go so badly but if I remember correctly, that's during the time that we're going down to Durbz. I've NEVER been able to go cause every year something comes up at the last minute:mad:

This. Minus the GF part.

I honestly find all these kinds of events whether it is Icon, Rage, or whatever, to basically be what I could do at the usual shops I frequent except now you have to deal with huge crowds and an entrance fee.

But I may still go if some of my like minded friends consider it this year :D
 
I'm there, naturally. Last year's event was awesome, I found loads of sweet hardware deals, and unlike at retail, many of the sellers were willing to reduce prices.

I don't usually do the LAN, but this year I might.

For my part, I've a lot of good friends in Joburg who are at the expo, so rAge is as much a social event as a gaming event. Although getting to play Gears of War 2 before launch last year was pretty rad.

Besides, I get a free press pass. ^___^

I don't do the LAN, though. Doesn't appeal to me at all.

Yeah I totally get the whole social event aspect for some people. For me however I live in Joburg and since we have so many amazing gaming / anime based stores around that really do not need to go out of our way. :D And since most of my acquaintances live within a 40km radius, we get together as often as we feel the desire to.

I guess I just dislike fighting with the crowds at events. Going on Friday usually helps with that, but often a LOT of these events the real content is only happening on either Saterday or Sunday.

Also LANing is not for me anymore. I used to thrive on it until I got access to a fast internet connection. I also had a few too many things get stolen / lost / broken heading to and fro from said LAN events.

If there's a nice Anime viewing going on I may very well attend however!

Me too, i'm looking forward to it, living in Durban there is not much choice at all when it comes to anime/manga stores. I could be mistaken here, but have found none so far :(
 
Im definitely going and im sure the BF will wanna go just as bad :) Guess i'll be seeing you at GH stand too, although i havent really played a lot on world tour it should be fun making some school kiddies cry :D ooh and i love the gadget displays im a sucker for new gadgets....
 
Flip I wish I could go to Rage :(

It would be mighty awesome to meet some of the BF2 lads as well...
 
Well i will definitely be there... Probably be wearin mah MyG shirt :rolleyes: havnt missed a rAge event since about 2005 and i hope its still around when im old and grey :p

I was there in 2006 and 2007. 2006 was awesome, but I felt that 2007 was hugely disappointing (maybe the xbox launch made my expectations to high)

Skipped on 2008 for very good reasons.

I prob wont go this year either, I find that all the excitement is lost on me because of the huge crowds and nothing there is really *new* or must see.

Well i reckon with the up and coming releases of like Starcraft 2 Diablo III and Modern Warefare 2 this year is gonna be huge :D
