According to an interview with Siliconera, the sequel to Remember Me is "ready to be made," as the main story is already fleshed out. But while the game's concepts are apparently prepared, developer Dontnod says the next step is dependent upon publisher Capcom.

"We know what we would do for Remember Me 2," said Dontnod creative director, Jean-Maxime Moris. "The main story has been written we know what we would add to the recipe. We know what we would fix. It’s a game that’s ready to be made, but that decision is Capcom’s to make."

While 2013's Remember Me was obviously a very stylish game, and incorporated some unique gameplay concepts, the overall reception for the game was a bit lackluster. IGN's review noted repetitive gameplay and some bland platforming as negative aspects within an otherwise interesting world.

Moris also noted Dontnod has "started the very early stages" of looking at a second season of the studio's episodic game, Life is Strange.

Haven't made it through the game yet. The combat is very clunky. But I like the visuals and the story seems intriguing. Hope to finish it eventually.

This is another case of something that showed tremendous potential that was simply trying to fill shoes twice it's size. With the benefit of retrospect I think great things can come from this IP...if they are given the chance
