Reputable online stores or suppliers for PC parts and hardware?

Hey there,

I'm new to this forum
I would like to know if you guys know any solid and reasonably price stores I can get parts for my new gaming PC build?
I've sourced from evetech.co.za and from wootware.co.za and they seem to be the cheapest, but I just want to make sure if there are any other stores or suppliers I'm missing out on before making my purchase.

The parts are:

CASE: NZXT S340 (Black will do but would like the matte black and red)
POWER SUPPLY: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2
HEATSINK & CPU FAN: Noctua NH-D14
PROCESSOR (CPU): Intel Core i7 6700K (4.0-4.2Ghz)
MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z170A Gaming Pro
RAM(MEMORY): Kingston Savage HyperX 16Gb (8x2) DDR4 3000Mhz
GRAPHICS CARD: MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V 4Gb 256Bit Overclocked
PRIMARY HARD DRIVE: SanDisk 256 SSD
SECONDARY HARD DRIVE: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD
MAIN OPTICAL DRIVE: External Dual Layer DVD +/- Writer

Ive sourced the motherboard and psu from wootware, and everything else from evetech, with the exception of the Noctua NH-D14, which I will likely import on Amazon.

Any advice or critique is welcomed regarding my planned build.
Thanks.

I've personally bought from wootware and rebeltech - both went well enough. I'd probably go with those above evetech as I'm more certain I can fix it @online rep if something goes wrong, though I'm sure you have your reasons.

If you're in PTA then I'd also check out titan ice - they have a physical shop there. Also relevant maybe to MetalSoup - never bought from them though

which I will likely import on Amazon.
Maybe check out the SSD as well then? I got my 250gb SSD off amazon at a crazy price.

As for the build - looks good. Lose the optical drive. Dont need it. You can probably cut $$$ on the RAM without sacrificing performance if you're not overclocking. I'd also be tempted to stick a bigger HDD in there - probably a big green one (yes I know the green score worse than the blues). Personally I'd rather take a corsair PSU, but thats very much unexplainable personal preference.

Personally I don't like the case, it looks rather small and inflexible. My alternative is Corsair carbide 330r. However currently I'm also looking at the Corsair carbide 600c for my self. I prefer Corsair, I like the build quality, the stock fans are brilliant and it has nice flexability going forward. Going into the future you don't know what upgrades you plan, best option is to spend more now and keep your case for future upgrades. Also i see you want an optical drive, the NZXT one you choose doesn't have space for those.

Then I would look at getting a 3/4 Tb HDD, your will fill a 1 TB HDD far too soon.

My alternative to the nocta
cooler master hyper d92
Corsair hydro series h80i

HavocXphere did you have to pay custom duties when you bought off amazon. I know you have to pay VAT but custom duties vary. It's 0% for pc parts if I'm right?

From all the research I've done, the s340 is one of the better cases for the price range and has solid air flow.

I was looking at the NZXT H440 but it sacrifices lower temps for better noise dampening.

So I'd sacrifice on a more expensive case and rather put it towards other parts because I'm at the end end of my budget.

I will look at your suggestions though and let you know if i change my mind.

As for the optical drive. I'm going for an external one but that's mainly to install windows and MS Office. With my current pc now, i don't think I've used my optical drive for months. I'm mostly using Steam for my gaming.

Well you can install Windows and office from a flash drive, then you don't even need the external dvd drive.

For the price I admit it's a good, but personally I'd rather start on a better foundation. Leave the CPU cooler for now, the stock CPU isn't bad. There is maybe another 2 months of summer, then it will be cooler and realistically you won't need a proper cooler until September. But personally that's my approach if your at the end of your budget.

Skouers Drop me a pm with your full budget and your personal requirements and I'll have a look at it.

Skouers I have the Noctua NH D14 in my pc. Just know that it is massive. You better make sure that the RAM is not an obstruction for it. I did a lot of research and in the end I knew I would have to take the top part of the heatspreaders off of my Corsair Dominator RAM. And then it just barely clears the RAM.

Also, it is heavy as f*ck. If you like going to LAN's, or you move your PC around a lot, I would NOT recommend it, unless you will be removing it each time. You would run the risk of damaging your motherboard with it if you move your PC around often (or even at all).

I can take pics and show you how big it is if you like, but just be warned :)

Blazzok from the research I've done, the height of the HyperX Savage is 34.57mm and the max clearance for the Noctua is 44mm - 45mm. I I've checked the compatibility too, on pcpartpicker.com and everything is compatible. I've even seen a Nocuta NH-D15 in a NZXT s340 on that site even though it says they not compatible. The guy with that build said he didn't have any hiccups with the D15! Which is pretty crazy.

I won't be moving my PC around at all.

Please can you take pics. I think the Noctua is awesome.
Thanks

Epic then I won't get an external optical drive.

The reason for the Noctua, is because it's one of the best air coolers and I would also like to overclock.

I'm not ZA side so its different.

You'll be paying VAT though and the customs duty should be calculated at the purchase stage as well. Amazon should show the final taxes etc right before checkout and I think they give you a voucher if they calculated it too high.

And yeah you might as well take up Joker on his offer as well.

If you're not absolutely set on the Noctua I could recommend the Coolermaster Hyper 212x - I got it for my i5 6600K and it does a good job. I've OC'd to just over 4.2GHZ and it doesn't go over 55 degrees under load (with this crazy hot weather and my case isn't the greatest). Idles at 32. And there's the option of fitting an extra fan to make it more effective.

R500 from BlackHammer Gaming
R669 from Rebeltech

I honestly think the Noctua is one hell of a machine, but i know Coolermaster also make solid air coolers, especially the 212 evo. I'll have a look at it tho.

Thanks.

I think I will get majority of my parts from Evetech, with the exception of:
PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 from RebelTech
CPU - Intel Core i7 6700K from FirstShop
RAM - Kingston Savage HyperX 16Gb (8x2) DDR4 CL13 2666Mhz from Black Hammer Gaming *Perfect compatibility for the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro with lower latency.

OS - Windows 10 64bit from FirstShop

All the other parts I think I will keep the same except for the Noctua, and go with H105 water cooler, from Evetech instead.
All in all I'am sitting on 23,665 excluding the CPU cooler and the OS.

But I just wanted to ask if you guys know if:
Black Hammer Gaming
http://blackhammer.co.za/

and

FirstShop
http://www.firstshop.co.za/

are reputable online stores?

Thanks again for all your help.

@TheJoker did help me out, especially with the PSU special from RebelTech and with choosing water cooling over air cooling.

I got my i5 6600K (for about R500 cheaper than anywhere else) and Asus mobo from FirstShop last month. No problems and they were efficient.

The only complaints that I've seen for them is when a product is incorrectly priced so you could confirm availability of the product before ordering just to be sure.
