I can't wait. The war is on between ATI and Nvidia again. It was so boring when Nvidia was the only giant in the GFX industry. Now at least we'll see some real improvements in Price/Performance

I seem to remember reading that it has to do with chip design.

In a nutshell, nVidia chose to create a larger, more complex chip which is more expensive to manufacture whereas AMD didn't.

Apparently using a 512 bit as opposed to a 256 bit memory bus also pushes up the price of the graphics hardware in question.

Now if only AMD could pull off something similar with Phenom III

I have to admit, nvidia used to be the king of the hill..but I think they've lost the battle and now Ati has claimed the king of the hill title.

Nvidia seems to be getting desperate, rebranding old cards and selling them as new models ect...Shame!!

How far the titan has fallen. I'm saddened by these re-branding tactics nVidia has resorted to. ATi needs to give these guys a swift kick in the financial pants and maybe they would wake up and make good cards again. I still love my 8800GT .
