Rumour mill: HD stereoscopic 3D coming to Xbox 360

What people need is the next gen Xbox now. Battlefield 3 will look so much better for the console people then.
 
Microsoft will never release a new xbox right now! The "new" xbox is still in development and does not even have a name or an official design yet. Besides they are milking the 360 till the last drop (or Rand in this case lol)!
 
Xbox 360 got alot of juice left in it before retirement, besides that microsoft promised dev's a ten year life cycle on the console, same as sony.
 
Can't be bothered with 3D. It's one of those things that'll be fun the first week and old the next. Not to mention you have to get a 3D compatible TV before it'll work.
 
I don't see the point of stereoscopic 3D gaming...

Might just because I can't afford to buy all the crap they keep pushing on us or it can be that I also think the novelty will wear off within a week.

Either way seems like a waste of good money.
 
I read something on the IGN page (I know, that there is not a lot of support for IGN, at least not on American and European pages) that basically puts another perspective on the "new" Xbox rumors.

Microsoft reportedly spent $ 500 000 on development of Kinect (may be a lot more). This means that if they release a new console, they will be kicking their own investment in the face. Unless they make the Kinect compatible with a new console, which would also be a bad move, as one would expect them to fully integrate the console with older compatible technologies, ie built in Kinect. They will milk every last cent out of the current platform and Kinect, as Virus786 mentioned.

I can't see 3D taking off with the current generation console, but it might be nice if it is included in the eventual future development of the next generation console. Adding on functionality to the current generation platform is nice, but I don't see this taking off. Then again, if everything I said was true, I probably would've been rich.
