As you can see it just got a bit more bloody and gory. All maps have also been light-mass enhanced so they look more atmospheric.

Can't wait for the first release, hopefully one of the hosting companies here can set them up with a server.
 
some info please? what was this a mod for Unreal that has been made into a stand alone... oh wait I do think I remember it winning an award or something....

The crucible got numerous awards for example best character customization, best weapons etc. But they never made it to the finals, couldn't get their mod polished in time and the competition was stiff.

The Haunted now known as Hells Reach(My other favourite UT3 mod) is the one who won the MSUC contest and is also heading towards the UDK. Unlike the Crucible though they now have a license and can modify the Engine to the core. Suprisingly they aren't well known. The MSUC contest didn't generate much interest from gaming sites, because of the whole UT3 saga.

The Crucible

Since the dawn of time, just beyond the veil of the known, souls of the dead have gathered in battle to determine their fate. It is on this plane, the gateway between the realms, the bridge between Heaven, Hell and the mortal realm, that Angel, Demon and mortal will battle to decide their fate. A place where you will fight for your very soul. A place Where the weak will perish and the strong will prevail. A place where mortals and the forces of Heaven and Hell collide in a titanic battle. This is the Crucible: the ultimate trial.

The Crucible is a new multiplayer based game, that will feature a unique 1st/3rd person combat and movement system blended with traditional FPS play. The Crucible will place a heavy emphasis on action, violent gun battles and brutal melee combat.

Presently, the Crucible features new weapons, characters, vehicles and gametypes. This along with new maps, game rules and player movement. Also a new UI and HUD is featured.

We'll be releasing a port of the Crucible to UDK very soon.

Hey

Never knew we we're slightly known here in SA :D Thanks hideinlight, appreciate it :)

Anyway, we're working hard on this beast. It's not as we want it yet, but it will get there one day. Few other projects need our attention ;)

With any luck, commercial sucess will follow us soon :D
