Sega admits to misleading Aliens: Colonial Marines demo

I think saying they are demo videos is still misleading. When does a demo version of a game look better than the final product? They actually manage to take steps backwards during development?
 
Normally there's a disclaimer going along the lines of "Alpha footage of game in development, not indicative of finished product" or something like that. Normally this sounds like an apology and an indication that the finished product will be something better. With this it's the opposite.
