Timesplitter developer says that shooters aren’t lucrative enough.

This dude has got it the wrong way around. It's not a case of "if it's not COD we're not going to play it", it's more a case of everyone else wanting to make their game like COD and people getting tired of that.

When games stop trying to emulate COD and give us something other than a Modern Military Shooter, they actually do well;

Borderlands
Bioshock
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Left 4 Dead
Team Fortress 2
Portal 2
Tribes Ascend
Halo 3/ODST/Reach
