Silent Hill HD Collection will feature original voices

Where can I pre-order?

Forget all the other great games that's coming out next year...

This is the one to get! *drools*
 
Awesome news! I heard the new voices vs. the old voices in a video posted on the Silent Hill page on FB and they were worlds apart. New voices would have totally ruined the game so this decision is brilliant for those wanting to experience these most excellent games on the current generation consoles.
 
How does Silent Hill compare to the resident evil's of that era? I am a big fan of the original Resident Evil 1&2 but I never played Silent Hill. Anyone care to give me a comparison?

Unfortunately I never played the first two Resident Evil games. Eh, what are the chances? I can however tell you that if you like survival horror then you can't go wrong with Silent Hill 2. It's got amazing atmosphere and a story that will leave you wanting more. The ending is truly brilliant.
 
I have to take my hat off to Sony for bringing us these HD remakes, I am looking forward to Metal Gear Solid HD Collection among others. Not sure if it's just nostalgia but the classic's really take me back to a time when developers were passionate about their games and I think it shows, I will always remember playing Resident Evil 2 on the original Playstation without a memory card LOL. I would get extremely far and die and eventually have to restart the entire game and make sure I didn't make the same mistake. Can't believe I actually finished it...
 
And thanks Solitude :) I'll be doing my homework on the Silent Hill games but I'm sure it's right up my alley.
 
honestly to me silent hill games have always felt like a poor mans resident evil. eg. silent hill the room and re 4 came out more or less at the same time and re 4 was decades ahead storywise and gameplay wise

these are not hd remakes (they're technically hd upscales) all sony does is sucker people into paying again for a game they had on a previous platform, a true hd remake would be halo anniversary or super street fighter II HD remix.

This thread is about the Silent Hill Collection which features Silent Hill 2 and 3. Silent Hill 4 was a completely different kind of game. And so was Resident Evil 4. You can't even compare the two.

Did you ever play Silent Hill 2 for more than an hour? If so then I respect your opinion. Otherwise not. :p

True forgive my choice of words. But still it gives people like me, a chance to experience a game I missed out on two console generations ago. A good example of this is the God of War 3 Collectors edition that was given to me by a friend who was immigrating, it allowed me to experience God of War 1&2 that I never got to do.

I still have silent hill 2 on pc and i never really got caught in the game, sure it was pretty and the radio monster indicator was a novel feature but storywise i didnt like it at all

Alright, then I respect your opinion. :) It's one of my favourite games of all time so I'm just a bit suprised that there's someone out there who doesn't like it.
 
will this come out on xbox? bec I can't afford to buy a ps3 even though this is totally worth it.
 
This new wave of HD Collection releases is by far one of my 2011 highlights. I remember most of these games and can't wait to play them in HD. Need to get ICO->MGS->GoW first though...
