SimCity introducing offline mode?

Maxis and EA make gauge interest for SimCity Classic Mode

Shouldn't that improve perhaps when more expansions start coming out like we all know tons of them surely will?

For me the online-only was secondary. I could still deal with that. What I couldn't deal with was the small city sizes. Those are what ultimately killed the game for me.

Regardless, SC4 is just a better game overall.

Yup, this is my feeling too. I will draw the small amount of enjoyment from it that it may provide, only if it's cheap and only if it's got an offline mode. Otherwise, it can stay in my "games-that-I-hold-contempt-for,-and-will-never-play" section.

Thanks for the heads up. I tend not to really follow the developments with sim games so not usually as critical with them as I could be. Will turn the attention of my credit card towards one of the many sims 3 expansions for the gf then.

Even with offline mode, I don't see the point in getting this. Just the sheer amount of complaints in this thread is enough for me to make up my mind. If you need to play SimCity, just get the previous version.

+1, I didn't mind online only, what I hated was how limited the size was, and also how broken the AI seemed to be.

Also find the city size a joke. On top of that they expect people to pay almost $10 for blimps. To me that should be a free update, give me a proper expansion. I mean I just bought the new Civ 5 expansion for $26, I'm gettting way more than 3 blimps.
