Solidarity calls for moratorium on affirmative action

Trade union Solidarity today called on the government to impose a moratorium on the implementation of affirmative action in order to prevent the public service from losing expertise. This came after the Auditor-General's performance audit found that state departments had spent billions of rands on consultants.

What can we say as facts are facts. People shoved in jobs beyond their capability cannot perform their duties then hire consultants, normally former retrenched AA employees, to do their work while still earning their full salaries. What a waste, but I cannot complain as I am maybe part of the problem as an ad hoc "consultant". I have to get food to the table somehow.
