Sony thinks the Wii U isn't powerful enough

Everything is about price and comfortably (is that even a word?) in this generation of gaming.

I would rather buy a handheld gaming device then a console if it's for casual gaming.

Don't think the store owner would allow me to plug in a PS3/Xbox to their TV while i wait for my Mom/GF to finish shoe/Clothing shopping.

iphone/ipad/android phone/android tablet. - For me forking out for a dedicated hand held gaming device is a waste.

I meant for casual gaming, doesn't have to be something expensive.

Have my PC for general gaming and a PSP for when i'm not at home.

That statement is a contradiction; it doesn't have to be something expensive: so paying £140 for a DS or £199 for a Vita and then forking out between £20 - £30 per DS or Vita game isn't expensive? Using my phone, which I already have to have & use with a £0.99 app seems alot cheaper to me. For example I have pinball arcade on my iphone & wife's ipad. The app was £0.99 for 1 table. I have since bought 5 other tables for it and my total cost still hasn't exceeded £10.

Im not saying there is something wrong with handhelds or even that they shouldn't be. What I am saying is with most smart phones being able to run some pretty decent games - Max Payne Mobile, GTAIII Mobile etc - forking out for something that only plays games seems silly to me.

What Sony and Microsoft seem to be ignoring in all of this is that the Wii U will come with the tablet controller in the box. To use their features you'll need either a nice touch screen phone or a R3000 vita? So the game companies are not going to build games based on purely touch experiences for these consoles because it's not guaranteed that people will have these accessories so they can only ever be "tag-ons" or "enhancements" whereas for the Wii U, the tablet can be fully integrated because every single Wii U will have one.

So in terms of the best touch-based experience the Wii U is already at an advantage, wether or not that translates to increased sales remains to be seen. Microsoft is also at more of an advantage because more people have phones, but they can never get too fancy graphically because they'll be playing to a hugely varied audience of phones. Sony's idea just sucks though, I mean look at how the sales of the vita have tanked, no one is going to buy a vita simply to add some touch features to a few ps3 games, the only ones who will benefit are those who buy both just as a matter of course.

Way to big I own a PSP 1000 but never manage to play more then 1 hour at a time.. after sometime you can start feel the strain on your thumb and neck from looking down @ console

All the main smartphones run either iOS, Android or WP. So you need a single app in each of those flavours to cater to the majority of the phone carrying public.

The Vita and WiiU controller can't do everything your phone/tablet can. It would seem M$ is in the best position since you can choose a device you already have to use as your Smartglass.

Am I the only one with no desire to hold a big ass brick (read WiiU controller) in my hand for extended play sessions. At least with Smart Glass if you do own a tablet you just just keep it on your lap or next to you on the couch and pick it up whenever you want to look at it for a map or maybe your inventory.
