Star Wars: The Old Republic breaks EA's pre-order record

This is an impressive feat, not only for a PC exclusive game, but also for a game which is currently available on pre-order exclusively via EA's own online distribution network, Origin.

Digital pre-order exclusivity, yes, not retail.

What's really an impressive feat is that it managed to top EA's pre-order record in the very limited number of countries capable of pre-ordering (just a heads-up for those who don't know: North America, the UK and some parts of Europe are the only regions currently able to pre-order). Many international fans have ordered via Amazon (can you say huge import duties?) and linked their pre-order codes to their SWTOR accounts which, incidentally, also links to your Origin account.

I have my collector's edition secured thanks to my fiancé and I'll get the box next time he ships a package my way.

The demand for this game is pretty big, so needless to say that fans have gone out of their way for it.

I have mine preordered from amazon.com and already registered for early game access. Game won't be region ip locked so they left that loophole for us who want to play.
