Steam Summer Sale... who else has spent more than they should have already?

they make the flash sale timers longer due to time differences across the globe so everyone has a chance to see them and take advamtage

I figured as much, but they started out at 6 hours... I stayed up an extra half hour last night to wait for one to expire and the next one start. Again, 6 hours.

When I woke up this morning, they showed as "10 days" and change, which is till the end of the summer sale. It stayed like that until 8 hours were up (in other words, they must have decided last minute to change the flash sales to 8 from 6 causing the 10 day display bug.

Set my limit on $50 only Really want batman city and nothing else really for now since I got most of them on the xmas sale.

The Ubisoft collection is actually pretty good; Assassin's Creed Revelations, Driver San Fransico, Beyond Good and Evil, Heroes of Might and Magic 6, Rayman Origins, R.U.S.E, Splinter Cell Conviction and From Dust for $50.

The thing I don't like about those packs you get the crap games as well.

There is a difference between a game you don't want to play and a crap game. :) None of those games are crap, at least not in my eyes.
Yeah though you are right in that often with packs you will have some games you aren't interested in or may already own but the thing is that you only really need to want a few of the games in a pack before you're actually saving a big chunk of cash.

One of my first ever purchases on Steam was the THQ and that was pretty awesome. :) R500 for 22 games, all but 2 or 3 were really top class.

Yeah no dought about it if you don't already have an extensive range of the games the packs are the way to go.

I'm actually strongly considering the Ubisoft pack, because it has some nice titles in it. Only shitty one is From Dust, and I already own Splinter Cell.

Thing is, for the money I pay for that pack, I can probably rack in about 20 other games over the course of the sale, at the least.

Graal at a steam sale is like a baby in a candy store lol, just cannot say no to a steam sale lmao

20 games at $2.50 ... I don't see it, even indie are getting more expensive than that. :)

Exactly. For the packs, I take a look at which ones I want, and decide if its worth paying to pack price. The rest would be considered freebies in my mind.

You'd be surprised. I've already picked up the Penumbra triple pack for $5, Dark Messiah for $2.50, just about all the Dungeon Defenders DLC and the Binding of Isaac DLC, and I think I've hit about $20 now. Maybe not 20 games for $50, but it will be a lot more than I'd get from the Ubisoft pack. :p

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the daily deals can sometimes beat the price of games in the packs. This happened with Max Payne 3, which was previously 33% off in the Rockstar Bundle, but is now 50% off in the daily deals. This is now reflected in the Rockstar Bundle, but I assume it will change back when the daily deal expires.

What I'm getting at is that if you are only interested in a few titles, then maybe it's better told hold out for the daily deal, and if it doesn't show up, then buy the publisher bundle at the 11th hour.

If memory serves, Steam also runs the most popular titles again on the big daily discounts for the last day of the sale.

So does anyone recommend From Dust?

I bought From Dust on my PS3, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I would recommend it.
A friend of mine however bought it for PC, and he kept complaining that it felt like a console port.

That could probably be solved if you have a controller or something.
