The Official: I'm playing GTA 5 Thread.

Yeah dude, I'm also playing on one of the original xbox 360's but at least mine has the hdmi out. I noticed my console fans kick in pretty loud when i play the game. I'm hoping it's not another one of those titles that RROD's consoles :( I played some more tonight and finished my first heist. It's an awesome game. Now I'm looking forward to the next-gen announcement!
 
Well it's official...my Xbox is dead. After another attempt at GTA 5 last night, for the first time ever in it's life, my Xbox RROD'ed...

swak dude! it's seems a bit of a waste to get another xbox just to play GTA when next gen release isn't that far away. You gonna wait or get a new one just to play GTA?

Yeah that's the predicament at the moment. Well at least I got about 3 hours of play, which is just enough to want more and more. If they can't fix it, I'll burn their garden to the ground...
 
Is it just me or are the controls (PS3) taking a bit to get used to. They're just..weird. For some reason I keep on pressing on L3 when sprinting so I go into stealth mode.

Maybe it's Red Dead or Far Cry 3 interfering. I'll get over it though :p



BTW, it didn't take me long to get a lap dance, grope the stripper too much and start a brawl in said strip club. Not sure if the game is designed for mayhem like that or if it is a sad commentary on my character (bearing in mind I've since banged the stripper and I'm only 3% in :wtf: )

Ag jissie. Sorry dude. That's the last thing you want. It's scary because, like I said in my post last night, the thought that this game could case RROD's did cross my mind when I heard what my console was doing. I suppose it depends on how many XBOX360 titles you have at the moment, it may be a good idea to still invest in a new model now, that way it will last you for another couple of years. Luckily for you XBOX360 consoles are cheaper than PS3's - that's something to be positive about. Plus I've heard the new consoles are a lot quieter than the ones we are used to.
 
I just couldn't resist GTA 5 anymore after watching a few videos last night. Phoned bt games this morning to find out if they still got stock and how much it is, R750 :wtf:

My PS3 HDD kicked the bucket last night too. Going to have to pick up a new HDD during lunch today and hope I can somehow retrieve my GTA V save...

Yeah, it also took me a while to get used to some of the controls, especially jump on square. I kept trying to climb over walls by pressing X for a while.

Also banged the strippers (one with Micheal and another with Franklin). I did get thrown out of the club when I got my first double lap dance because I couldn't see the bouncer when I was touching the girls. I did kill all the bouncers after that though. :p (That sounds so wrong).
 
the local bt here was seling it for 699 yesterday. I also had R200 credit waiting to be used at the store so ended up paying 499.
I was against paying so much for a game before but after playing I can honestly say its probably worth it. Even more so when the online portion is available.

Makro sells it for R599 (and you get to pay some or all of that amount with eBucks - cost me R299 in the end ;) )
 
Has anyone noticed how hot the ps3 (slim) gets when playing this game compared to other games? I mean I could actually hear the fans with GTA V.

What I like about the game:

-Graphics, If you thought GTA IV had good graphics you are in for a surprise, they really pushed the limits here. I'm really shocked on how the console can handle this game.

-Customisation, not just for cars :)

What i Really really dont like:

-Driving engine....ugh :mad: its like freaking burnout, nowhere near like GTA IV.
-You die....a lot! In missions it takes like 5 shots and you are dead, its really unfair.

I actually haven't felt or touched my Xbox (that sounds weird) after a 5hour stint of playing, but mine is only a year old so I would imagine they resolved those kind of issues. *touch wood*

Yeah, I'm not so much a fan of the driving engine/system either, feels very or extremely twitchy, especially under the slow-mo ability. The braking as well I feel is too hard (if I can call it that). I know this isn't a simulator, but I much prefered the handling in GTA-IV.

Yes, you do die easily, which I actually like. It adds more difficulty to the game and actually feels like you getting shot.

The parts you don't like, sounds good to me.
 
My PS3 got so hot yesterday, i was busy with a mission where the whole thing just froze up on me, needed to reboot the PS3 and start the mission over. Seems Rockstar really wanna kill the PS3 with GTA 5, perhaps they have shares with Sony or made a deal to kill it so everyone can buy the PS4 and then buy GTA 5 again for PS4 ;P

Seems like a nice money maker deal.
